Philip V. Bouklas
has been with the firm since 1999, and has been a partner since 2005. Philip prepares a wide variety of tax planning strategies for U.S. and non-U.S. citizens and businesses, particularly those with complex legal and tax issues. He also represents business owners to assist them with the proper formation and operation of their companies, including the preparation and negotiation of a wide array of corporate-related agreements. In addition, he serves as general counsel to several companies engaged in national and international transactions.

Philip’s practice also includes the administration of estates and trusts, where he represents individual legatees, beneficiaries, charities, executors, administrators and trustees. He is frequently called upon to appear in Surrogate’s Court to participate in various estate-related proceedings, including serving as Court-appointed Guardian ad Litem.

Philip received his Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law in May 1995, and is a 1991 graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he received a combined studies Bachelor degree focusing on economics, political science and sociology. He is admitted to the New York State Bar, the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court, for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey.

Philip is a Registered Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, an international professional body of experienced and senior practitioners in international tax matters. He is a former committee member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Issues Affecting Persons with Disabilities, and an active member of the Association’s Trusts and Estates, Corporate Counsel and International Law Sections. Philip is also a member of the Metro New York Philanthropic Advisors Network.
